A Letter to a New Mama

These are the moments you've been waiting for. Maybe ones that you've even dreamt about.

Your little one is here. You're holding her within your arms, tracing the lines in her little palm over and over. You've heard her cry, the one that seems to pierce the silence as you are right there with her at her side. You've felt the beating of her heart against your own as she has laid upon your chest. She is more beautiful than you could have ever imagined.

And your heart is exploding.

In the days to come, you'll wonder if you're doing it right and hoping you're not doing it wrong. There are so many blogs, so many books, so many articles and so many opinions on what the right way is to the point where no one even knows the best way anymore. Your instinct is your instinct. You were made a Mom not because of anything else but that this little life was entrusted to you.

Trust yourself.

I know that sometimes you'll worry if she knows how much you love her. You'll wonder if she can feel it or see it in your face. You'll hope that when you're on your phone or you're just so tired, that she won't feel like you're not here with her. You are secretly afraid to admit to anyone that you're scared that one day you'll walk into her room and she won't be okay.

These fears are not new, these are the fears of every Mom. You are not alone. In all the tiredness, all the new things, all the adjusting; you are doing better than you think you are. You are being a Mom to this little life and that is both brave and exhilarating.

The future is full of memories to be made and discoveries to be had. It is full of things you'll find about her and she'll find about you. It will be full of richness, hugs and conversations that leave you both changed. You'll see her grow and discover and it will be one of the most beautiful experiences of your life.

The days are long. The years are short. Last times don't announce themselves, they just happen.

You're going to be one amazing Mama and right now, this is your beautiful.

Introducing baby Josephine (Posie).  The precious life completing a blended family and making it whole.  She's a third daughter for Mom and a second for Dad.  Her sister's wish came true when they walked in the hospital room to see that little pink hat!! "It's a girl, we have a sister!!!" What an exciting memorable moment they will never forget.  Everyone's hearts so full of love. ❤

Mom & Dad wish that all four of their beautiful daughters to grow up to be happy, healthy, strong, confident, independent women.
