PLAN YOUR SESSION WARDROBE IN FIVE SIMPLE STEPS
Do you want gorgeous images of your family that leave the focus on your faces and the connection you have? The clothing you choose to wear to your portrait session can help! When you book a session at Reflections of Life my stylist Christine actually comes out to your home and takes care of wardrobe for you, but this information will certainly help along the way. A palette of soft neutrals is best, avoiding bold patterns or logos, and embracing solid colours, layers and textures. Here are some examples for outdoor sessions.
- Think gray, brown, cream, tan, beige, white or denim (the lighter denim the better). For more colour visuals, here's a link to my what to wear guide
- Gather your light neutrals for each person (for outdoor sessions you'll want layers so you're not too cold)
Lay out your favourite outfit for each person next to each other on the floor (shoes too, if you're planning to be outdoors)
Ensure that everyone is wearing different colours/depths on the top and bottom (you do not want all light tops and dark pants)
Take a photo of your wardrobe so far and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org
To make your experience at Reflections of Life Photography even more enjoyable, I've acquired a studio wardrobe of clothing you're welcome to use during your maternity, newborn, baby and family sessions. I've done much of the work for you, so you can just relax and enjoy the fun. Here's a peek at what awaits you. xo
