Mama - This Extravagant Grace Is For You

Mama - This Extravagant Grace Is For You

I want to take a moment today to remind you of something deeply important.

If you need some time to read this, find a quiet place and take the two minutes you'll need to soak in every word, mama. Because this is for you.

You've been given a gift. It is grace for the days when you shrug your shoulders. Grace for when your heart feels heavy, or when you have more questions than answers. Grace when the to-do list seems so long it might just be running itself out the door.

It is lavish, extravagant grace for you.

It is grace for the woman who holds her newborn in her arms and wonder if she is doing it right. It is grace for the woman who has kids running down the stairs and out the door as time flurries by. It is grace for the woman who runs a business, who receives the future with joy, who works hard to see her family thrive.

It is grace that you are a rare treasure.

The very thing that brings you admiration and sets you apart isn’t what you do. It is that you fear the Lord.

That you love Him. That you’ve seen Him. That you know Him as holy. That you carry your children straight into His heart. That you collect His wisdom in your soul like treasures. That when someone mentions His name, your face lights up like the sun.

And that the grace is this, He is with you in it all.

He is with you in the running after kids. When you get up for night-time feedings, cooking dinners and having hard conversations. He is with you in the loud and in the quiet, in the coming and the going. He is with you in the things that no one else ever sees.

He is with you, you mighty warrior of a woman. And He's giving you that extravagant grace.

So take a moment to soak that in. Draw a bath and take a deep breath. Spend time in prayer and thank Him for that. And if you make a mistake, don't spend your time in worry, He's got you.

Hey mama, I'm Karen Byker. I grew up in Ontario, Canada. I live in my hometown of Grimsby and I'm obsessed with newborn baby yawns, giggling kids and fancy flavoured tea, which I usually end up drinking cold because, hey, I’m a busy mama too.

I'm a mother of four that understands the overwhelm of every day, but I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it. I believe it’s possible to enjoy this busy life we chose.

I’ve helped hundreds of mamas to slow down, pause and use photography as a reminder to take a breath. Let's chat about documenting the beauty through your chaos.
