How To Make Your Photo Session Safer

Safety is #1 for all of us right now. I'm taking all precautions I can to maintain a sterile environment at my studio so that my littlest clients and their families are protected. Here are the health and safety measures that I'm following in the studio to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Health Measures

Before each session, I'll regularly monitor my temperature. I ask that clients check their temperature too before coming to the studio. An air purifier will be running constantly. Disposable gloves and masks are kept on hand. I will be happy to wear both during the session if that’s what you would prefer.

Personal Hygiene

I wash my hands thoroughly before and after each session. Hand sanitizer is also kept out in the shooting area at all times. Please ensure you wash your hands well for at least 30 seconds before leaving your house.

Studio Cleaning Policy

Before and after each session, the studio is deep cleaned. I sanitize every surface that can possibly be touched before and after sessions so that germs aren’t spread between clients. All surfaces are wiped with disinfectant wipes. Every backdrop, wrap, and prop used during the session is washed/sanitized and any clothing that was worn is washed. Clothing options will be chosen and laid out before the shoot using my online wardrobe catalog. At this moment no outside props are allowed in the studio.

One Session A Day

I will only be schedule ONE studio session a day to ensure ample time for thorough sanitization and cleaning. Also, for the time being, sessions will be limited to immediate family only.

No Shoes In The Studio

You will be required to remove your shoes once inside and leave them at the doorway.

Sick Policy

My studio has a strict no-sick policy. Clients are required to disclose and reschedule the session if their child or anyone coming to the studio has had a fever or any other symptoms such as cough, runny nose or vomiting in the last 24 hours. To reschedule, please contact me as soon as possible. There is no fee to reschedule.

I look forward to serving you as soon as the government deems it safe. If you're thinking about booking a session in June or later, feel free to reach out now. I'm currently running a book now, pay later offer!

About This Sweet Family

This is Rajini, Amit, and their boys Anik, Aryan and little Avi. They really wanted to capture great family shots, images of their children together and of course, images of Avi on his own. We did all of those things and more!

I photographed this little cutie in early March, right before the quarantine began. I was so surprised we were shut down the next week.

I scrambled to show his mama the finished images as I was sure she was excited. I changed my usual in-person image reveal to an online one. It was challenging to go back and forth, but we made it work.

It's been over 6 weeks now, and I've done that SO many times since. We find ways to make it work, don't we? We compromise and adjust and we make it through. And we'll keep doing that because we're strong and resilient.

Client Review

“We first met Karen 7 years ago when we went for newborn pictures with my first son. A year later we went again for my second boy.  When we were blessed with our third boy this year there was no doubt in my mind that she would be the one to take these pictures for us. There is something about her and her studio that has made our experiences with her magical.

Our pictures have always come out looking amazing! This is all due to Karen’s calm and loving personality and peaceful studio.  She was able to quickly calm a newborn while keeping two energetic boys entertained.  We highly recommend her.” - Rajini Kaushal

Hi there, I'm Karen! I am obsessed with newborn baby yawns, giggling kids, and fancy flavoured tea. I'm a mama of four who understands the busyness of everyday life and I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it through lifestyle photography. I know what it’s like to look back on my children’s first years and feel like they flew by so quickly. I don’t want any other mamas to forget what their baby’s little fingers and toes looked like all curled up. My hope is that I can help you create albums and prints to serve as physical reminders of these sweet times throughout your baby’s early years. Contact me for info.
