Families at Reflections: The Marinelli's

So many Mamas just like you come to my studio to capture their family's story.

I'm so excited to be sharing some of their stories on my blog in a new family feature series!

Meet the Marinelli’s!

I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and her family when they came to Reflections for their newborn session with their firstborn, Aria. They returned for Aria’s One Year milestone session, and invested in a beautiful wall gallery and heirloom albums. Then, Sarah, Michael and Aria visited again this year to celebrate the arrival of their newest addition, Gioia (pronounced Joy-a)!

Read more to hear from Sarah on her family’s experience at the Reflections studio.

What does family photography mean to you?

Sarah: “Family photography is a beautiful way to capture life’s moments. Having professional photographs taken is a great way to both enjoy and remember those moments too!”

Was there a specific reason you decided to book with Reflections?

Sarah: “You were referred to us by another photographer, Robert Nowell, who took our wedding pictures. We were looking for someone to take newborn photos when we were expecting Aria.”

“Robert knew the best fit for us and gave us your name! We knew you would be perfect to capture these important life moments with our family.”

What was the story or vibe you wanted to convey through your newborn session?

Sarah: “I wanted the session to be very focused on the story of our baby. I wanted a natural, calm and personal vibe, which is exactly what you do! It was important to us to match the feel and colour scheme from our previous session so we could add to our living room gallery wall, and preserve the photos in a new album just like we did for Aria.”

The Reflections Experience

How did you feel on the day of your session?

Sarah: “I always get a little nervous before each session, but you’re such a professional that the nerves never last long. They get replaced with excitement!”

“Plus, knowing that all details like wardrobe are taken care of means I am much less stressed. Instead, I get to look forward to enjoying time with my family! You’re such a pro!”

Were there any photos in particular that are your favourites from your sessions? Why are these your favourites?

Sarah: “Probably our family portrait images. I remember looking down at our 10 day old little girls — from both newborn sessions — with so much love.”

“In the final images, you can see the love in our eyes. You just captured our emotions so well.”

What is your favourite part of the experience?

Sarah: “I love watching my husband and daughter interact with each other. They have a great relationship and watching them always makes me tear up.”

The Image Reveal is wonderful too. I love getting to sit back, going through the pictures with my husband to pick out our favourites for our album and gallery wall.”

Do you have any advice for other busy moms who are considering investing in a family photographer?

Sarah: “I would recommend Reflections in a heartbeat. Moms are busy, time is precious with our children. But you make the entire process easy. You’ve really thought of everything!”

Thank you, Jennifer, for your kind words! Helping families tell their stories through my camera lens is such an honour.
